How we helped a US Tech company get setup in Taiwan

Background

Our client is a US Tech company based in California. They wished to relocate a Taiwanese employee based in the US back to Taiwan. They had no prior experience of working in Taiwan. They wanted a full outsourcing service to advise on their compliance and payroll requirements and implement everything they needed in Taiwan. They also wished to create a global single point of contact to help them manage all their international payroll and compliance requirements.

How we helped

We provided the following services to our client:

  • helping them understand their compliance options in Taiwan. By understanding their business and commercial needs, we enabled them to select a legal structure which enabled them to stay compliantwith Taiwanese regulations in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • we created a suitable Taiwanese entity for them and guided them through the whole setup process
  • after the entity was created, we setup a Taiwanese payroll registration so that they could make their internal staff transfer and pay their employee in Taiwan
  • we worked closely with our global payroll and money movement partner in Taiwan to ensure that the client payroll and payment services were set up seamlessly once the registrations were in place.

Our client has been able to implement their employee relocation without increasing any internal admin or finance resources. They are fully compliant in Taiwan and their costs there have been kept to a minimum due to our up-front analysis. The implementation of their setup and payroll has been handled without draining internal management resources. By utilising Galvin and a global payroll supplier, they have single contact points for payroll and compliance that they can use in Taiwan and in other countries.
